Adopt Brisa

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 6 months

Brisa – for now, or should she? The pretty Brisa has lived in our Spanish partner animal shelter since she was six months old. Due to her unobtrusive nature and her "camouflage cap," she has unfortunately been often overlooked. Nevertheless, Brisa clearly shows that she is genuinely interested and eager to learn. Our volunteer helpers have been working with Brisa more intensively for some time now. They spend as much time as possible with the sensitive female dog to prepare her for life by her person. Additionally, she is allowed to play more often with other well-socialized dogs, from which she can learn and observe. Brisa is thus increasingly coming out of her comfort zone. She recognizes the trust that other dogs show to the helpers, which piques her interest and seems to give her a sense of security. It is more than clear how much the female dog enjoys these moments. Brisa shows herself to be very curious, open, and interested. With great joy, she explores other areas of the animal shelter and looks forward to the daily "small adventures." Now, Brisa also happily accepts treats from the caregivers and is very pleased with the human affection she can now allow herself more and more. We are looking for a dog-experienced and calm home in the countryside for our shy Brisa, where she can receive enough time and patience to continue developing. A confident and friendly only dog who shows her how wonderful life in a caring human-dog pack can be would be ideal for Brisa. To earn Brisa's trust, one needs empathy, stable structures, and sovereignty. Would you like to learn more about Brisa? Then please contact her responsible matchmaker. She will be happy to answer your questions and provide you with further information. If you cannot adopt a dog, you can also help Brisa with a sponsorship. This is easily possible through our sponsorship form:

About Brisa

What life with Brisa looks like

Brisa is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brisa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brisa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brisa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brisa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brisa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brisa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brisa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
