Britt

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 12 years

Lady Britt is no stranger to us. In her puppy days, she came to our shelter. After her adoption, she lived with her previous owner for several years. Britt is an adult and has gained the necessary life experience. Unfortunately, she proved to be too strong for her owner and also had a clear need for longer walks. She still needs to adjust to being in the shelter, but thankfully, she was already able to enjoy her first long walk in the beautiful town of Oldenzaal. During the walk, she behaved well and walked nicely. She is perfectly house-trained and can also stay alone for a few hours. She wants nothing more than to be close to her owner(s). She enjoys being pampered with extra cuddles, in short, a grateful dog companion. A stable, tough dog companion by her side will do her good. She is not used to children, so we do not place her with people with children under 12 years old. This sweetheart deserves a sporty owner. Are you looking and wondering if Britt might be a good fit for you? Please fill out the intake form and who knows, you might have a meet & greet with our Britt soon. Lady Britt is a neutered female dog, 3 years and 10 months old. Her height is approximately 50 cm.

Haar hoogte is ongeveer 50 cm.

About Britt

What life with Britt looks like

Britt is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at DOC Oldenzaal in Netherlands.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Britt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Britt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DOC Oldenzaal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Britt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Britt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DOC Oldenzaal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Britt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Britt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DOC Oldenzaal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Britt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
