Brody

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Brody lived with his brothers Rio2 and Balu at the municipal animal shelter. How they ended up there is unknown. Whether they were picked up as puppies on the street or given up by their owner, we do not know. At the shelter, they were given the wrong food, which they did not eat and became thinner. Since they live with Maria José (who supports the La Solana animal shelter) at the large foster home, they are doing better. They have gained weight, been fully vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, and are lively and playful. Brody wants to take off now. As a young dog, he is naturally curious and wants to discover many things. The three brothers were not previously familiar with close contact with people, they are open and friendly, but do not immediately throw themselves at the caregivers' feet (as some other young dogs do). There is still much to learn for the young, dear Brody. He can already play very well with his dog friends :-) He is most happy with the other dogs or chilling in the shade. Brody is most likely a herding dog mix. He will grow to be about 50 cm tall and will love to move and experience beautiful walks with his humans (as soon as he is old enough). These dogs are clever and eager to learn. Of course, he still has a lot to learn, like all young dogs: housebreaking, walking relaxed on a leash, even staying alone. He can already drive a car :-) Brody should find a stable home as soon as possible, because he needs loving and calm guidance for his life now. There are many dogs living at the foster home, so unfortunately there is not enough time to give each dog the best possible support. The dear Brody can also move in with an existing dog, as he is very compatible. Please note: The feedback from the animal shelters reflects the current behavior of the dogs here.

Brody will nun durchstarten.

About Brody

What life with Brody looks like

Brody is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brody, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brody?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brody on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brody if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brody already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brody isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brody and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
