Brokat

Male · Young · 1 year

Brokat wandered around Warsaw and for a long time refused to be caught. But eventually, we managed to catch him—and that’s how this little dog ended up with us. As for the name “Brokat”? Well, since he truly deserved to be a star, our little guy needed an entire audience just to muster the courage to step out of his kennel! At first, we worried he’d be another anxious dog in our group, one we’d have to work hard with—but it turned out all it took was a bit of patience (and a whole team of supportive volunteers cheering him on) for him to stroll right out to us with his tail wagging high in the air, let us put his harness on without any fuss, and happily set off for a walk! Today, we’re already taking Brokat on walks completely normally, and the only time he hesitates is when he’s back in his kennel. Still, a tasty treat is all it takes to convince him otherwise! Recently, Brokat even went for walks accompanied by several of our other foster dogs—and it’s clear he absolutely loves it! Although he does like to bark at larger dogs, especially those he spots in the distance... He’s also becoming more and more confident around us, and although he’s certainly not yet the cuddle-bug we’d love him to be, we think he’s really close to that point now! Brokat is GREAT! Maybe you’d like to meet him? We’d also love to invite you to follow our volunteer group’s social media channels, where you’ll find updates on the lives of our shelter residents, information about adoptions, greetings from their forever homes, educational posts, and much more! PL·Show original

Wystarczy jednak dobry smaczek, by go do tego skutecznie przekonać. Brokat spacerował też ostatnio w towarzystwie kilku naszych innych podopiecznych i ewidentnie sprawia mu to radość! Może chciałbyś go poznać? Zapraszamy też na media społecznościowe naszej grupy wolontariuszy, gdzie znajdziecie relacje z życia naszych podopiecznych w Schronisku, informacje o adopcjach, pozdrowienia z domów, posty edukacyjne i wiele innych! About Brokat

What life with Brokat looks like

Brokat is a small young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brokat, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brokat?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brokat on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brokat if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brokat already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brokat isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brokat and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
