BRONEK Update 07.06.2024: unfortunately we have not found the owner of Bronko. Currently - Bronko has revealed himself as a very shy dog, for whom trust must be earned - but he rewards it as best as he can. Every walk is another step in rebuilding the relationship between dog and human. He is not an aggressive dog, he has learned to walk on a leash, allows himself to be petted and is a terrible glutton. He lives in an animal shelter with other dogs - and gets along with them. His attitude towards cats is unknown. Bronko urgently needs a new home - with a understanding dog owner who will give him the right dose of peace and attention. In the animal shelter everything is harder for the dog, and Bronko is a typical example of an animal that really wants to, but is afraid - and only a home and a real person can help him overcome this fear. 24.06.2022: The dog is about 6 years old and weighs 20 kg. At the moment he is confused about the situation he is in. Bronko has been reported regularly for several months. We have tried to catch him several times. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the place the dog was not there. His wounds on the muzzle are the result of long walking in a collar, which he was wandering in. The puppy had difficulty obtaining food, as the muzzle made it difficult for him. Bronko has a registered microchip. He was neutered. We contacted the person to whom the microchip was registered. We received the information "It's not my dog". We are currently trying to determine to whom the puppy belongs. Prevention: The puppy has received all vaccinations, is generally healthy. He was dewormed and treated for fleas. He is microchipped and is neutered. Welcome to our animal shelter. If you find a dog that steals your heart, we will help with transport to a new home at a reasonable distance. The animal shelter is located in Racławice near Miechów in the Małopolska province (about 40 km from Kraków). All animals from our animal shelter are sterilized or castrated before adoption and there are no exceptions except for medical reasons. We inform you that we do not give out animals on a leash, nor puppies outside.

Niejednokrotnie podejmowaliśmy próbę złapania go. Jesteśmy w trakcie ustaleń do kogo należy piesek. Profilaktyka: Piesek otrzymał komplet szczepień, jest ogólnie zdrowy. Został odrobaczony i odpchlony. Jest zaczipowany i jest wykastrowany. Zapraszamy do naszego schroniska.

About BRONEK

What life with BRONEK looks like

BRONEK is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Psie Pole in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting BRONEK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BRONEK?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Psie Pole handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BRONEK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BRONEK if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Psie Pole will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BRONEK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BRONEK isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Psie Pole early rather than rehoming privately; they know BRONEK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
