Adopt BROWNIE

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 8 months

BROWNIE is a small, energetic cat, although she also knows how to take breaks and enjoy moments of calm and cuddles. As you can see, she has only one eye. It was removed due to a cat flu contracted when she was very young. This does not bother her at all in her daily life: BROWNIE manages perfectly and it is certainly not a handicap for her. She is a great player who enjoys playing with anything she finds: balls, bottle caps, walnut shells, pieces of fabric, stuffed toys... Her favorite is a small rabbit. She even has a little "cat-dog" side: when someone throws her a ball, she goes to get it and brings it back (and can do it again and again!). Probably weaned a bit early, BROWNIE tends to bite and extend her claws when she plays, without realizing that she can hurt. For this reason, we will avoid families with young children. She will thrive with a dynamic cat companion who can keep up with her play pace. Access to the outside will also be a big plus for her, as she is very curious and loves exploring her environment. BROWNIE is clean and uses her litter box perfectly. In terms of food, she loves dry kibble and treats, a bit less so the wet food. Available in Bédée (35)

Read original (fr)

About BROWNIE

What life with BROWNIE looks like

BROWNIE is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Moustaches et Compagnie in moustaches et compagnie.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting BROWNIE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BROWNIE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Moustaches et Compagnie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BROWNIE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BROWNIE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Moustaches et Compagnie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BROWNIE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BROWNIE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Moustaches et Compagnie early rather than rehoming privately; they know BROWNIE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
