Brownie

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Male, not neutered Born approximately 23.11.2025 Podenco mix Growing, height currently approximately 42 cm / weight approximately 9 kg Pflegestelle Spain: Refugio Amposta From the Perrera in Vinaros, the chocolate-colored puppy Brownie was allowed to move to Monika's shelter on August 19, 2026. We can't imagine why the poor fellow ended up in the Perrera at this age. Brownie is still reserved, uncertain, and very submissive around other dogs. Even with humans, the incredibly sweet little guy needs a moment before he can enjoy cuddling and petting. Anais was able to meet the typically curious young man during her visit to the shelter and is completely smitten with Brownie. She would have loved to take him home herself. We would like to place Brownie with understanding, patient, adventurous, and active people who want to show him the world and keep him busy. Of course, cuddle sessions on the couch are also not missing. Podencos are very people-oriented, intelligent dogs that want to be busy. A well-socialized first dog is also welcome to live in the new home. If you're also in love, then get in touch with us quickly by email.

About Brownie

What life with Brownie looks like

Brownie is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ANDANA Pfotenhilfe Schweiz in Switzerland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brownie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brownie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ANDANA Pfotenhilfe Schweiz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brownie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brownie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ANDANA Pfotenhilfe Schweiz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brownie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brownie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ANDANA Pfotenhilfe Schweiz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brownie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
