Adopt Bruce

Mixed Breed · Male

Bruce Bruce arrived into our care in the middle of March after spending some time straying, but you’d never guess it, he settled in almost instantly and made himself right at home! He’s an outgoing, confident, and very chatty lad who absolutely loves people. Bruce is the kind of cat who wants to be involved in everything you’re doing, always ready to say hello and keep you company. And when it comes to food… let’s just say he’s a big fan of his grub too! Bruce enjoys attention and isn’t shy about asking for it. While he can live with other cats, he does like to be the centre of attention and can be a little dominant in that regard, he knows what he wants, and that’s love (and lots of it!).❤️ He would make an incredible family pet in a home where he can truly shine, soaking up affection and being part of a loving household of his very own. If you’re looking for a confident, affectionate companion who will bring energy, character, and plenty of love into your home, Bruce could be your perfect match.

About Bruce

What life with Bruce looks like

Bruce is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruce, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruce?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruce on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruce if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruce already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruce isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruce and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
