Bruno

Beagle · Unknown

We are seeking a new, loving home for our dog Bruno, as our living circumstances have changed significantly due to work and a new addition to our family, and we can no longer be fair to him in the long term. This decision was not easy and was made responsibly and without time pressure. Charactery & friendly, people-oriented and good-natured, child-sensitive and attentive, intelligent (with an Aussie component) with a good nose (Beagle component), he bonds closely with his trusted people, lives in the family routine, can stay alone after settling in, prefers his own space, enjoys quiet walks as well as joint activities, and adapts well to clear structures. Important to know – Hunting/Activity Drive: He shows a pronounced hunting or activity drive, which particularly projects onto buses. In bus-dense areas, he requires forward-looking management (leash, distance). In a quiet environment, he is well manageable. Experience in handling hunt-motivated dogs is advantageous. This can be well assessed, but should be taken seriously. Wished-for Home: We wish for him: a quiet environment (rural or on the outskirts of town)People with dog experience or willingness to manageSingle person or couple, preferably with older/quiet childrenEnough time for walks, nose work, and bondingNot suitable for a very hectic household or a home in the middle of city traffic with regular bus contact. Health-age-appropriate healthRegularly vet-checked Our Wish: It is particularly important to us that he can arrive and stay. Honesty, getting to know each other in several steps, and a good gut feeling on both sides are at the forefront for us. With serious interest, we look forward to a message with a few words about you and your routine. We do not give him up out of convenience, but out of responsibility – so that he can lead a stable, quiet, and loving life. Contact: Thomas Wille Email:

About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a adult beagle dog waiting at Tierheim Paderborn in Paderborn.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Paderborn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Paderborn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Paderborn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
