Bruno

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

Bruno is one of ten puppies born to Irma and is about three months old. He is expected to grow into a large dog. Visually, he is the little outsider among his siblings, as while many of them have dark fur, Bruno stands out with his long, fluffy fur in beautiful shades of gray and beige. His story began under particularly dire circumstances. His mother Irma was found emaciated, heavily pregnant, and with her legs and snout tied together. Shortly after her rescue, she gave birth to twelve puppies. Unfortunately, two of the little siblings were not strong enough and died soon after. Even for the ten surviving puppies, the start to life was not easy. Due to their severe malnutrition, Irma did not have enough milk to adequately feed her babies. Dorel therefore took on the task of raising the litter by hand. With a lot of effort and care, he brought the siblings through their first, particularly important life phase. Bruno is an open and friendly little guy. In the familiar circle of his siblings, he is cheerful and enjoys playing and romping together. Outside his sibling pack, however, he is a bit shy and needs a moment to adjust to a new situation. This mix makes Bruno so lovable: He is curious and friendly, but not the one who always immediately seeks the spotlight. In his familiar environment, he feels visibly comfortable and can simply be a playful dog. Bruno may have herding dog genes. This assumption is mainly based on the appearance of his mother Irma, who shows clear characteristics of a herding dog. Whether Bruno has actually inherited these traits and how strongly they will show later, we cannot say today. Herding dogs can be wonderful family dogs if their characteristics are understood and respected. They are often very loyal, build a close relationship with their humans, and can be exceptionally calm, confident, and attentive companions. At the same time, they are independent dogs, originally bred to independently guard a herd. Therefore, they often bring a certain watchfulness and independence with them and can be initially more reserved towards strangers or unfamiliar situations. For Bruno, this means: His future humans should be willing to deal with the special characteristics of herding dogs and accompany him with calmness, patience, and loving consistency. Good socialization and clear, fair structures will help him grow into a secure and balanced adult dog. We wish for Bruno people who give him the time he needs to build trust and get to know new situations. With patience, loving consistency, and many positive experiences, he can grow into a great companion. After his difficult start and the loving hand-raising by Dorel, Bruno is now looking for his very own person - someone who falls in love with his fluffy look and friendly nature and gives him a forever home. Bruno travels to his new home age-appropriately vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, and flea-free with an EU pet passport. He will be placed for a deposit after a positive preliminary check. Thank you to Adriana L.! You gave Bruno his name and thus an identity. Status: 26.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
