Adopt Bruno

Mixed Breed · Male

Good day, my name is Bruno. I am a large, strong dog. I was born around 2015. I came under the wings of Psitula from an animal shelter in Mysłowice due to its closure. Volunteers and staff did everything possible so I wouldn't have to go to a new place. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Perhaps everyone sees in me a big dog, causing an undefined fear in people who don't know me yet. Although in reality I can be a wonderful, loyal friend. The ideal dog! If only I meet the right person who will dedicate the needed time to me, notice what is acceptable for me, and what I am not used to. What I am afraid of, and what I completely don't know. Remember, that every dog can be gentle and every dog can behave aggressively. You are holding the reins of our behavior. Your actions shape our reaction. I need to be known, yes! I need to get to know you. That is the adoption process, in the animal shelter you have this chance. We have time, we can slowly read each other like a book, slowly open up to each other. I need this! I love walks, volunteers are amazed by me, because I don't pull.

To Wasze ruchy kreują naszą reakcję. Trzeba mnie poznać, owszem! Ja muszę poznać i Was.

About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
