Adopt Bruno

Spanish Mastiff · Male · Young · 2 years

BRUNO was born, approximately, in September 2023. He was rescued from the street where he was found abandoned and soaked under the torrential rain we had this month of March in Seville. Thanks to some people who didn't look away, Bruno is already safe in our animal shelter. He was rescued from the street, soaked and under the rain, without a place to shelter. An animal is a responsibility that many people still don't understand, but we are going to try to change the lives and continue offering new opportunities to the animals we can. BRUNO is a mixed breed of large Mastiff. Everything he has is good and noble; he is a little piece of bread who adores being petted and playing with people. He gets very excited to see other dogs; he is a dog who likes to socialize and interact. He is all nobility and calm; he can live perfectly in an apartment as long as he has his daily walks, as he is very calm and laid-back, and he walks very well on a leash. He is microchipped, has a passport, is up-to-date on his vaccinations, and has tested negative for Erlichia, Heartworm, and Leishmania. Additionally, he is neutered.

About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a large young adult spanish mastiff dog waiting at El Refugio Escuela Marlene in Seville.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. El Refugio Escuela Marlene handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — El Refugio Escuela Marlene will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with El Refugio Escuela Marlene early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
