We know it's almost impossible to find this needle in the haystack, but who doesn't dare… We are looking for a home for two very different tomcats with different needs and requirements. There is the black-and-white Bruno. Very sweet, very easy-going with people (including children) and other pets. He definitely wants outdoor access. Then there is his buddy Benny. An Ataxie tomcat. Also very loving and cuddly with people and pets, but of course should not have outdoor access. Despite this, the two get along very well, so we wish they could stay together. This means we are looking for a home with a large but secure garden where Benny could safely go as well. Both are suitable for apartment living with a balcony, but this is not enough for Bruno. If he were to spend the whole day outside, it would be hard on Benny to be alone. One just needs to understand the challenges of an Ataxie animal and how to manage them. Unfortunately, he is sometimes incontinent. However, he is being trained so that this no longer happens. Note on Ataxia: Ataxia in cats is not a disease in itself, but a symptom of a nervous system disorder that manifests as coordination problems, swaying, stumbling, or falling over. Causes are varied (congenital, infections, injuries). Many affected cats can lead a pain-free, happy life despite the disability with adapted surroundings (non-slip floors, cushioned furniture). His gait has already improved significantly through physiotherapy. Perhaps the two will have some luck? If not, both can also be rehomed separately, but only as second pets. Er darf und kann natürlich nicht in den Freigang. Damit er sich nicht langweilt, sollte er einen verträglichen Kumpel im neuen Zuhause vorfinden.Auch jüngere Kinder sind kein Problem. Leider ist Benny manchmal inkontinent. Es wird zwar mit ihm trainiert aber ob das je vollständig weggeht, können wir nicht sagen. Fliesenboden wäre da wohl von Vorteil. 🙂Hinweis zur Ataxie: Ataxie bei Katzen ist keine eigenständige Krankheit, sondern ein Symptom für eine Störung des Nervensystems, die sich durch Koordinationsstörungen, Schwanken, Stolpern oder Umfallen äußert. Ursachen sind vielfältig (angeboren, Infektionen, Verletzungen). Viele betroffene Katzen können trotz der Behinderung mit angepasster Umgebung (rutschfeste Böden, gepolsterte Möbel) ein schmerzfreies, glückliches Leben führen. Durch Physio hat sich sein Gangbild schon massiv verbessert und es wäre sicher schön, wenn diese weitehin durchgeführt werden könnte.
