Peter und Anouk

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 10 years

Description: 🖤 Peter & Anouk – two quiet souls searching for their home 🖤 Peter (10 years) and his son Anouk (8 years) are two beautiful black tomcats, united not only by their origin but also by their path in life, taken together, quietly, and with their own special, quiet manner. The two are very shy and do not belong to those cats who snuggle on laps or actively seek human proximity. And yet, they have something very special about them. Despite their reticence, they come running punctually every day as soon as their familiar helpers appear. They even allow for a few cuddles, small, precious moments of trust that show how much is inside them. 💛 Peter und Anouk are not lap-seeking tomcats for people expecting cuddle units. They rather seek humans with big hearts who would like to give them a home without demanding anything – simply because they deserve it. Two souls that might never say "I love you" but are grateful on their own, quiet way. Currently, they live in a free-run and are accustomed to this lifestyle. Therefore, we wish to offer them a home with free-run in a quiet environment, ideally fenced off for cats, such as on a farm, a large property, or a place where they can arrive safely and at their own pace. Peter und Anouk are neutered and microchipped and ready for their second chance. They need people with patience, understanding, and the willingness to accept them as they are. Because even quiet, unassuming souls deserve a home. 🖤🐾 Would you like to give Peter und Anouk a chance? Then please fill out the Self-Declaration Form under the "Adoption" tab first. Contact:.

About Peter und Anouk

What life with Peter und Anouk looks like

Peter und Anouk is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Buxtehude in Buxtehude.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peter und Anouk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peter und Anouk?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Buxtehude handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peter und Anouk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peter und Anouk if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Buxtehude will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Peter und Anouk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peter und Anouk isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Buxtehude early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peter und Anouk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
