"Several of us used to gather daily for lunch - without any obligations - at an older lady's house. To our great regret, the kind lady eventually moved into a nursing home, which caused our food source to disappear overnight. Now I have been here at the animal shelter for several months. However, I have hardly learned to truly trust people. I am still very, very cautious and do not let myself be touched - I simply need a lot of time and patience. But there are still bright spots: I am always available for delicious snacks, and sometimes I even dare to come a little closer. Overall, however, my situation has unfortunately not improved - on the contrary. I am still very shy and usually flee immediately when someone tries to get close to me. Since my friend Brooke was adopted, I seem to be additionally unsettled and have actually taken a step back. I need people who accept me as I am - without expectations, with plenty of calm, patience and understanding."

"Wir waren mehrere, die sich täglich zum Mittagessen – ganz ohne Verpflichtungen – bei einer älteren Dame einfanden. Zu unserem grossen Bedauern zog die nette Dame irgendwann ins Altersheim, wodurch unsere Futterquelle von einem Tag auf den anderen versiegte. Nun lebe ich schon seit einigen Monaten hier im Tierheim. Bis heute habe ich jedoch kaum gelernt, Menschen wirklich zu vertrauen. Ich bin nach wie vor sehr, sehr vorsichtig und lasse mich nicht anfassen – dafür brauche ich einfach noch viel Zeit und Geduld. Ganz ohne Lichtblicke ist es aber nicht : Für leckere Snacks bin ich jederzeit zu haben, und dabei traue ich mich manchmal sogar ein kleines Stück näher heran. Insgesamt hat sich meine Situation aber leider nicht verbessert – im Gegenteil. Ich bin weiterhin sehr scheu und ergreife normalerweise sofort die Flucht, sobald jemand versucht, mir zu nahe zu kommen. Ich brauche Menschen, die mich so annehmen, wie ich bin – ohne Erwartungen, mit viel Ruhe, Geduld und Verständnis."
