Bryony

Border Collie Β· Female Β· Young Β· 1 year

Bryony is a cheeky, lovable girl who will make such a lovely addition to the right home. Whilst she does find new situations stressful, she's clearly very curious and loves to explore around with her nose once she has settled down. She might take a second to warm up but enjoys lots of fuss once she gets to know you, and will happily seek out some cuddles! Bryony does really well with other dogs, especially ones that are more confident, so she'd enjoy making lots of friends out and about. Bryony eats well but does prefer to have her meals by herself, and will often take her treats away to enjoy them in private. She also has fun playing with toys and will happily entertain herself with them when there is no one around. Bryony will need some ongoing help around cars, so an environment that requires lots of travel would not be suitable for her initially. Sweet Bryony is ready to find her forever home! Bryony is a 1-year old Collie who can live with secondary school aged children who can be mindful of the space she needs. She is able to live with another dog in the home pending a successful pre-adoption mix, provided they are a calm confident buddy who can help show her the ropes. Bryony is still learning her basics and is making lots of progress, so this should be continued in her new home. She can get a little nervous around new people so minimal visitors would be ideal for her, along with a safe enclosed space she can go away from the front door. A secure private garden would be beneficial but is not necessary, and she should be kept on lead when in any public or communal spaces. Bryony does not like being left by herself, so her adopters should be willing to spend lots of time with her and help her build up her confidence.

About Bryony

What life with Bryony looks like

Bryony is a young adult border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Salisbury in Newton Tony.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bryony, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bryony?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Salisbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bryony on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bryony if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Salisbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bryony already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bryony isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Salisbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bryony and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
