adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! The wonderful Bud with the stunning fur pattern on his face had a great stroke of luck and was able to travel to his foster home in 91362 Pretzfeld. There, he is settling in wonderfully and has already learned a lot. It seems like he is laughing all day and is fully enjoying his new life. You can clearly see how much he has missed family life and how much he is soaking up all the affection he can get. He also loves his walks. With cats, or even wild animals, he shows a prey drive, so no small pets should live in the household. Bud is very people-oriented, but needs some time at the beginning to build trust. Women seem to have an easier time with him, but men can also earn his favor.🥰 The two emergency cases Bud and Terenc were found together by the roadside in Romania. Unfortunately, Bud was injured – we suspect that a car hit him and we believe he had a femur fracture. When Bud arrived from Romania, he was limping because one leg was shorter than the other. Bud therefore received a prosthetic hip in Germany, and the surgery went without complications. Physical therapy is still important for Bud and should be continued long-term. We can explain this in more detail and also demonstrate the exercises. Our Bud, who is now just under 3.5 years old, is about 58 cm tall and currently weighs around 31 kg, has a rather good average size. He is a true ray of sunshine and very happy with his new life in freedom. Bud already runs well on a leash and loves exploring everything. He is compatible with his fellow animals but also needs some time to get to know other dogs. At first, he can also show some fear. This probably also benefits from his small handicap, as he is generally a rather attentive and laid-back male dog. From an appearance standpoint, we cannot rule out that Bud may have herding or guardian dog traits. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced home that already has experience with these traits or is willing to learn about them and can provide the optimal conditions. He would rather live in the countryside, a garden would be great, and if possible, no or few stairs. Children should not live in the household, as it upsets him when it gets loud or chaotic. Also, no cats or small pets should live in the household. The wonderful Bud is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give Bud a loving home with lots of cuddle hours? Many thanks Sandra L.! You named Bud! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Sandra L.! Du hast Bud seinen Namen geschenkt! About Bud

What life with Bud looks like

Bud is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bud, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bud?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bud on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bud if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bud already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bud isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bud and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
