Buddy is a male Eastern European Shepherd, born around 2022, who came to us on 31.05.26 due to seizure - but not because of misbehavior. Buddy is very attached to his humans. He wants to please and is very affectionate. Sometimes he still shows uncertainty, as he has had different experiences with people in the past. Some of his caregivers were unpredictable for him. Then his uncertainty can manifest as growling. If you tell him everything is fine, he switches to cuddling. He needs people who can read him and also provide physical support. The human must take the lead and in return gets a loyal companion. With other dogs he is also still a bit uncertain, this is also being worked on with him now. Buddy would like to work and is probably not picky about it. Whether it's nose work or dog sports, he probably doesn't care. His leash manners are generally good. However, when meeting other dogs, you should be firm, as he always wants to make contact with the other dog. On the shelter grounds he sometimes shows territorial behavior, so he already keeps an eye on things. Experienced Shepherd friends are needed here!

Buddy ist ein Osteuropäischer Schäferhund, ca. 2022 geb., und kam am 31.05.26 aufgrund einer Sicherstellung - aber nicht aufgrund seines Fehlverhaltens - zu uns. Buddy ist seinen Menschen sehr zugewandt. Er will gefallen und ist sehr verschmust. Manchmal zeigt er sich aber noch unsicher, da er in der Vergangenheit unterschiedliche Erfahrungen mit Menschen gemacht hat. Teilweise waren seine Bezugspersonen für ihn unberechenbar. Dann kann sich seine Unsicherheit in Knurren äußern. Sagt man ihm dann, dass alles gut ist, schwenkt er um in Kuscheln. Er braucht Menschen, die ihn lesen und Kräftemäßig auch halten können. Der Mensch muss die Führung übernehmen und bekommt dafür einen treuen Begleiter. Mit Artgenossen ist er teilweise auch noch etwas unsicher, daran wird ebenfalls mit ihm jetzt gearbeitet. Buddy möchte gern arbeiten und ist dabei wahrscheinlich nicht wählerisch. Ob beispielsweise Nasenarbeit oder Hundesport, das dürfte ihm egal sein. Seine Leinenführigkeit ist generell gut. Bei Begegnungen mit anderen Hunden sollte man allerdings standfest sein, da er immer gern Kontakt zum anderen Hund aufnehmen möchte. Auf dem Tierheimgelände zeigt er teilweise territoriales Verhalten, da passt er schon auf. Hier sind erfahrene Schäferhundfreunde gefragt!
