Buddy

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 7 months

Hello there! My name is Buddy. I ended up at the animal shelter following an official inspection, and now I’m looking for a new home. I’m a very sweet and friendly young dog. At first, I tend to feel a bit unsure around strangers, but I quickly warm up and then love going on adventures with my new friends. Outside, there are still some situations that make me a little uneasy, so I could really use some extra support in those areas. Because I’m still quite young, I’ve got plenty of puppy basics to learn—but I’m sure we’ll master them together, right? I get along well enough with other dogs, though I’m not yet fully familiar with the nuances of canine communication and could use some guidance and support in that area. As for my health, I appear to be completely healthy and unremarkable. I’m looking for a home with loving people who have the time to show a young dog all the joys of life. Since I can still be a bit uncertain at times, I’d prefer not to live directly in the city; a quiet residential neighborhood would be ideal for me. Children should already be past the toddler stage. Would you like to get to know me? If so, please get in touch! Your Buddy

Dann melde dich bitte!Dein Buddy

About Buddy

What life with Buddy looks like

Buddy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Buddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Buddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Buddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Buddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Buddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Buddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Buddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
