Bugsy

Jack Russell Terrier Β· Male

Jack Russell Terrier 10 years Bugsy came into FODDR under sad circumstances. It was quickly noticed that there was something wrong with Bugsy and he was taken straight to our vet for tests. Sadly the news was not great for him, Bugsy was in renal failure and this would be palliative care. However this little man is very happy in his foster home and is being very well cared for and spoilt. Bugsy loves his food although he is on a special diet. He loves his walks and now has a backpack to be carried in when he gets a bit tired. Bugsys main aim in life is to play and kill as many soft toys as he can. He just absolutely loves to rag them to death and needs a constant supply of new ones. Bugsy is getting the very best care he needs, and his foster family adore and spoil him rotten.

About Bugsy

What life with Bugsy looks like

Bugsy is an adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Forest of Dean Dog Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bugsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bugsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Forest of Dean Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bugsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bugsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Forest of Dean Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bugsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bugsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Forest of Dean Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bugsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
