adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Bummi was rescued from the street by the Animal Police and currently lives in the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. We do not know where he originally came from – his last "home" were the streets of Romania. Perhaps he was abandoned one day, perhaps he had to learn to survive on his own from an early age. Perhaps he cautiously roamed through streets, searching for food, avoiding people, and learned early that distance means safety. Perhaps he observed life from a distance, always alert, always ready to retreat. What we know for sure: Growing up in a cage should not be his future. Bummi deserves the chance at a real home – one that gives him time to build trust. Bummi is a male, approximately 7.5 years old, medium-sized dog with a shoulder height of about 45 cm. He has a dense, light brown coat, matching light brown eyes, and a brown nose. His calm appearance matches his reserved nature. Bummi is not a dog who immediately seeks attention. He prefers to be alone, barks rarely, and usually sits by himself. He is skeptical around people; when someone enters his kennel, he retreats to his hut. At the same time, he shows cautious interest: he takes treats out of someone's hand. He is compatible with female dogs, but his reaction to male dogs is still unknown. If Bummi is taken into his new home, everything will be new to him. We do not know if he ever had a home – much of what he will learn is yet to be discovered: everyday sounds, routines, closeness, and trust. What is important is patience, loving consistency, and a quiet environment. Positive dog training classes can help him gain security and process new experiences step by step. Pressure or haste would be misplaced here. Bummi does not need loud or overstimulating mental activities. For him, suitable activities are quiet, structured activities that build his confidence: small hide-and-seek games, nose work, quiet walks with plenty of time for observation, and gentle training in short sessions. Mental stimulation for Bummi means being allowed to learn at his own pace and collecting success experiences. For Bummi, we wish for a loving, empathetic home with people who see his subtle signals, respect his reserve, and give him time. People who are ready to allow trust to grow – step by step. Because behind his skepticism lies a dog who finally wants to arrive. Is your heart big enough for Bummi?. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Bummi

What life with Bummi looks like

Bummi is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bummi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bummi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bummi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bummi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bummi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bummi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bummi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
