Burglar

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Three Andalusian brothers, Bandit, Blitz, and Burglar, have been staying with me since mid-June. These three big boys, with their long legs and imposing appearance, are certainly impressive! But behind that tough exterior, they are still discovering that people can also be very nice and familiar. Blitz and Burglar are more free and curious than Bandit, who needs more time to gain trust. The three are incredibly attached to each other. They play together, seek each other out, and sleep snugly together. It is therefore important that they can stay together. They are currently staying with me in a separate cat room, where they continue to develop. They have already made cautious contact with one of my dogs. They are especially interested in that big, strange four-legged creature! They are especially curious and like to watch the cat out of the tree first. Now we think it's time for the next step: a home of their own where they can have the space and peace to grow into confident cats. We are therefore looking for a house or a spacious apartment with a safe, well-secured garden / outdoor space, where they can get used to and discover at their own pace. Because Bandit, Blitz, and Burglar are still cautious towards people, we are looking for a quiet household. A busy family with a lot of traffic and hustle and bustle is not suitable for them. Patience, understanding, and the willingness to give them the time they need are much more important than quick results. Who falls for these three special boys and wants to give them a safe, loving future together? ❤️ Bandit, Blitz & Burglar are ready for the next step. Maybe even to your house? ???? However, Bandit, Blitz, and Burglar do not necessarily have to be placed together. Blitz and Burglar could also be placed separately, provided there is a suitable social cat present. For Bandit it is different: he must be placed with at least one of his brothers. It is important for him to have a familiar companion.

NL·Show original

About Burglar

What life with Burglar looks like

Burglar is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Burglar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Burglar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Burglar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Burglar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Burglar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Burglar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Burglar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
