Pedro

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 6 years

When Pedro was found, he was a scared little bundle of misery. Fortunately, he was given the chance to move to a loving foster home, where he has since made great strides. With his regular caregivers, he feels safe and shows how sweet and gentle he really is. However, Pedro is still a very sensitive cat. He is still quick to scare with unfamiliar people and seeks a safe place. He is still in the process of building trust and needs time for that. Pedro lives with other cats, which is going very well. He clearly feels at ease in their company and a social cat friend in his future home would certainly be an added value for him. At the moment, Pedro is not ready to move to a new home. He will stay in his foster family for the time being, where he can continue to work on his self-confidence and get used to new people at his own pace. In the meantime, Pedro can be supported through virtual adoption. This way, you help him get the time and care he needs to develop further.

About Pedro

What life with Pedro looks like

Pedro is an adult european shorthair cat waiting at ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pedro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pedro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pedro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pedro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pedro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pedro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pedro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
