Buster

Male · Senior · 9 years

Meet our lovely old fellow staffy cross, Buster who is looking for a quieter pace of life. Buster is a friendly boy who enjoys plenty of fuss and affection from all of his favourite people, lapping up the attention wherever he can find it! He really enjoys playing with his toys, having a cheeky bark for a treat and then taking a big snooze after. He does know some basic commands and walks really nicely on the lead. Buster loves his walks, but as a senior boy, long hikes may not be for him anymore. He would prefer more rural areas and green spaces for his walks, where he can sniff and explore away from hustle and bustle without being overwhelmed by too many other dogs as he can find them worrying at times and prefers to keep himself to himself. A home with a secure garden would be ideal, giving him space to continue his housetraining and enjoy some gentle outdoor time off lead without any scary distractions. Buster is looking for an understanding owner who will appreciate that new situations can make him a little worried, but with kindness, patience and a gentle introduction to home life, he will definitely settle in and make your home his too. All he really wants is a quiet home, comfortable bed, and a caring companion by his side. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Buster, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Buster

What life with Buster looks like

Buster is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Buster, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Buster?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Buster on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Buster if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Buster already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Buster isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Buster and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
