Adopt Butch - EKH-Mix

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 4 years

Born: around 2022, at the animal shelter since: 06.04.2026, male Butch came to us as a found animal in April. He had already appeared at his finders' place at the end of March, but unfortunately, no one came forward who missed him. Upon arrival, his fur was matted, but otherwise, he was in good condition. After vaccination and deworming, he moved into the cat house. The large red and white tomcat does not feel comfortable in the company of other cats and keeps his distance from them. If a cat gets too close, he clearly shows that he does not like it. He is initially reserved with people, but by no means aggressive. We wish for Butch a home as a solo prince with a secure outdoor area. His new owners should bring patience and time so that he can acclimate well. They should also be aware of the need for fur care. Share this page Copy link To protect the animals to be rehomed and to cover the costs, we charge an adoption fee per animal.

About Butch - EKH-Mix

What life with Butch - EKH-Mix looks like

Butch - EKH-Mix is a large adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Butch - EKH-Mix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Butch - EKH-Mix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Butch - EKH-Mix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Butch - EKH-Mix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Butch - EKH-Mix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Butch - EKH-Mix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Butch - EKH-Mix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
