CAMELIA

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 5 months

Camelia came along with five other siblings. They were rescued after being abandoned inside a box. She’s a very energetic and extremely greedy little cat. You’d have to see her when we enter the cattery—she acts as if she hasn’t eaten in days! As soon as we step in, she becomes your shadow, the fastest one around. She follows you everywhere and chases after you no matter where you go. Any movement you make, she interprets as a possible cue for getting food. She absolutely loves those little packets of wet food! She’s such a goofball, isn’t she? The problem is that with so many cats in the cattery, she gets really stressed seeing them all as rivals for her favorite treats. Camelia is very affectionate. Once she finds her way into a loving family, she’ll feel a huge relief knowing she’ll finally have her own space—and a food bowl all to herself! Or at least won’t have to share it with 15 other cats. If you think you can give Camelia a forever home, come meet her! We’re open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except on public holidays.

Camelia vino con 5 hermanos más. Fueron rescatados tras ser abandonados dentro de una caja. Es una gatita con mucha energía y muy glotona. Tendrías que verla cuando entramos en la gatera. ¡ Es como si no hubiese comido en días! Nada más entrar es tu sombra, la más rápida. Te sigue y te persigue a dónde quiera que vayas. Cualquier movimiento tuyo lo interpreta como una posible acción para recibir comida. ¡Le encantan los sobrecitos de comida húmeda! Está boba ella, ¿verdad? El problema es que con tanto gato en la gatera se estresa mucho al verlos a todos rivales de su manjar. Camelia es muy cariñosa. Cuando consiga formar parte de una familia notará un gran alivio por tener su propio espacio y ¡un comedero todo para ella! o al menos por no tener que compartirlo con 15 gatos&; Si crees que puedes darle un hogar a Camelia, ¡ven a conocerla! Estamos de lunes a sábado de 11:00 a 14:00 horas, excepto festivos.&;

About CAMELIA

What life with CAMELIA looks like

CAMELIA is a medium-sized puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Protectora de Ibi in Ibi (Alicante).

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting CAMELIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CAMELIA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora de Ibi handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CAMELIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CAMELIA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora de Ibi will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CAMELIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CAMELIA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora de Ibi early rather than rehoming privately; they know CAMELIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
