Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Male, born approx. 06/2026, presumably medium-sized when fully grown, vaccinated, microchipped, tested before departure for Babesiosis, Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, Dirofilaria and Leishmaniasis. About Camus – a fine little fellow looking for his home Little Camus, his sister Caro (see www.sos-strassentiere.de) and two other siblings were found on a Romanian field, without a master or a mother. They were almost certainly abandoned there as unwanted litter. Camus and Caro now live in a public shelter cared for by one of our animal rescuers – not a good place for puppies. But for the time being they are safe and looked after. Camus is a perfectly normal puppy who loves to play and romp around. He readily makes contact with his carers and enjoys being spoken to and petted. With strangers he is initially cautious, but then opens up quickly. He shows typical puppy openness and sociability with other dogs. Of course, Camus has learned nothing in the shelter that belongs to life as a family dog. That is why attending puppy classes together should be a must for his new family. For this magnificent rough diamond, Camus, we are looking for a loving home with a house and garden – a foster placement would also be welcome. Camus is still in Romania.

What life with Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause looks like

Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause is a small puppy mixed breed dog waiting at SOS-Strassentiere e.V. in Berlin-Köpenick.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

How do I contact the shelter about Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS-Strassentiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS-Strassentiere e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS-Strassentiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Camus – ein kleiner Prachtkerl sucht sein Zuhause and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
