Ruben ist ein eher ruhiger und unsicherer Hund, der etwas Zeit braucht, um sich auf neue Situationen und Menschen einzulassen. Hat Ruben erst einmal Vertrauen gefasst, zeigt er, was für ein toller Kerl in ihm steckt. Dann wird er lustig, verspielt und zeigt seine fröhliche Seite. Er ist einfach ein ganz lieber Hund, der die Chance verdient, endlich in seinem eigenen Zuhause anzukommen. Mit anderen Hunden versteht sich Ruben gut und zeigt sich ihnen gegenüber sehr interessiert. Ein weiterer Hund im neuen Zuhause wäre schön, ist aber keine Voraussetzung. An der Leine läuft Ruben gut, und auch gemeinsame Spaziergänge sind mit ihm problemlos möglich.
