Capper

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Capper has found his people! His story: The little, approximately 3 months old Capper was found on the street. Our helper was just on her way to the shelter. He was likely abandoned. Guardian or herding dog genes cannot be ruled out. Capper is expected to grow to be medium to large size. He is a typical puppy: cuddles, play, mischief. All that a puppy heart desires! He gets along well with other dogs. Capper is looking for people who won't expect much from him at first and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against him and Capper should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should be left alone as little as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently but lovingly train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Capper is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. He brings his EU Companion Animal Identification with him and can be taken home after a positive our area! Many thanks Christine! You gave Capper his identity!

Alles was ein Welpenherz begehrt! Vielen Dank Christine! Du hast Capper seine Identität geschenkt!

About Capper

What life with Capper looks like

Capper is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Capper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Capper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Capper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Capper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Capper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Capper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Capper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
