Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white)

Unknown · Senior · 9 years

11 years & 9 years old Both Shih Tzu’s This adorable & very special pair are looking for a loving family due to a change in circumstances, they have lived together happily since a very young age and so are very bonded, we will be looking for a retirement home where they can stay together as they head towards their twilight years.. A little bit of info from their lovely foster mum… ‘Toby and Carys have been with me for a week now. Not knowing where they were when they arrived, they were a bit worried and stayed with each other in their bed. We had a few accidents on the first day, but that was expected as they were a little confused and didn’t know how to get to outside. After just 24 hours, they were settling in beautifully and following me around. They haven’t had any issues mixing with my 2 resident Lhasa Apsos. And no more accidents. 😊 Carys loves attention and has more energy than Toby, she loves running around and playing. She also loves sitting on your lap to have cuddles too. S

About Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white)

What life with Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) looks like

Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) is a senior dog waiting at HW Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. HW Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — HW Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with HW Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Carys (Tan white) Toby (grey white) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
