Caspar👻 Meet Caspar, our very own friendly ghost! He may not float through walls, but he’ll definitely float straight into your heart. This big, goofy lad is like a miniature pony, full of life, love, and endless snuggles. With his kind soul, cheeky charm, and heart of gold, Caspar is the very definition of lovable. He’s bursting with enthusiasm for life and absolutely adores every human he meets. He truly embodies the phrase happy-go-lucky, making everyone around him smile without even trying. There’s nothing spooky about this Caspar – just pure warmth, affection, and joy.Caspar has so much love to give, and he’s always ready to share it. A true people-dog, he thrives on human company and is happiest when he’s surrounded by those he loves, soaking up every bit of attention and affection. He’s a big softie at heart and gives the most wonderful cuddles, the kind that make all your worries disappear. He’s got that special kind of magic that makes you feel safe, appreciated, and truly adored. Every day with Caspar feels lighter, brighter, and full of love – he’s the kind of dog who turns even the gloomiest day into a happy one.Caspar’s playful, puppy-like spirit keeps everyone laughing. He’s a natural comedian, always ready to bring a smile with his silly antics and gentle goofiness. Whether he’s prancing around after a toy, throwing himself into a cuddle, or giving you his best “I’m so handsome” grin, he’s guaranteed to brighten your day. But behind all that fun is a beautifully gentle soul. Caspar is a true gentle giant – calm, sensitive, and endlessly kind. He has the perfect balance of playfulness and peacefulness, making him a dream companion for anyone lucky enough to call him theirs. At Clarks Farm, Caspar has quickly become a cherished part of the family. He’s confident, friendly, and always eager to be involved in whatever’s going on. He loves being part of our daily routine and has a special gift for connecting deeply with people – he’s one of those rare dogs who makes you feel like you’ve known him forever. Beneath his cheeky exterior lies an incredibly sensitive, empathetic heart. He seems to just know when you need comfort, leaning in quietly or offering one of his famous snuggles to lift your spirits. And if that doesn’t work, he’ll make sure to pull one of his funny faces or goofy moves until you’re smiling again. He’s that special mix of silly and soulful – a truly magical combination.Caspar’s heart is even bigger than he is and that’s saying something! His love is enormous, his loyalty unshakable, and his happiness completely infectious. He’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs who brings light, laughter, and love into every moment. With his gentle nature, loving soul, and warm, friendly energy, Caspar is everything you could ever wish for in a companion. Whoever welcomes him into their life will be gaining not just a dog, but a lifelong best friend.Caspar might be named after a ghost, but he’s the kind that will never disappear – his love will haunt your heart forever (in the best way possible).Being a bigger boy instantly puts Caspar at a disadvantage when it comes to homing, and it’s something that breaks our hearts. The big boys are never first choice for adopters, but we promise you, Caspar’s size is the least important thing about him. Yes, he’s tall, but the amount of love, kindness, and companionship he has to offer is even bigger and that’s what truly matters. He’s a gentle giant through and through, full of light, love, and loyalty. Caspar will make your life brighter just by being in it. He’s a real sunshine boy, glowing with warmth and joy, and he deserves a family who will love him just as deeply as he loves them.Caspar has happily shared his kennel with female companions and gets along wonderfully with the ladies. He’d be more than content to share his forever home with a kind, friendly female greyhound who enjoys his calm company. That said, Caspar is also a confident and independent lad who’s perfectly happy in his own space. He’d thrive as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love, cuddles, and attention for himself. His easy-going, adaptable nature means he’ll settle beautifully wherever he goes, as long as he’s surrounded by love and care.Caspar would happily live alongside older, dog-savvy children, teenagers, or adults. Due to his size and playful bursts of energy, a home with very young children wouldn’t be the best match, but he’d adore having confident older kids to share in his fun and cuddles. He’s a true people dog — loving, affectionate, and happiest when he’s part of family life. Whether he’s out on a calm walk, snoozing on the sofa, or joining in with family time, Caspar just wants to be close to the people he loves. He’s so adaptable and easy-going that he’ll take everything in his stride, and we know he’ll bring so much happiness to whichever home is lucky enough to have him. Now, you’re probably thinking, wow, this boy sounds perfect! So why is he marked as orange? Unfortunately, Caspar didn’t pass his first dog test. During the test, he showed signs of sight reactivity, becoming focused on Blossom and a little vocal when she moved. He wasn’t terrible, just unsure and confused, likely overwhelmed by the situation and not sure what was expected of him. When Blossom stood still, he responded beautifully and was able to walk away calmly, but her movement clearly triggered his curiosity and anxiety. We don’t believe this behaviour comes from a bad place — it’s simply the sign of a dog who hasn’t had much experience with other breeds yet. With time, patience, and positive socialisation, we know this gentle boy will continue to improve and grow in confidence. For now, Caspar will need a home that understands his size and strength and can work with him calmly and confidently. He’ll need access to quiet, controlled walks without too many off-lead dogs around, as busy dog parks and chaotic spaces would overwhelm him. What he needs most is a patient, loving family who can guide him gently through these moments, showing him that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. We’ll continue working with him here at Clarks Farm to help him feel more relaxed and settled around other dogs, and we know with the right people by his side, he’ll absolutely flourish. We also know, sadly, that Caspar will likely be overlooked time and again because of his size and his need for a little extra understanding. But please, don’t let that stop you from seeing the truly wonderful dog he is. His heart is enormous, his soul is gentle, and his love is unconditional. Once you see past the surface and really get to know him, you’ll realise that he’s not just a greyhound — he’s the most loyal, loving, once-in-a-lifetime companion you could ever hope to find.Caspar might share his name with a ghost, but there’s nothing invisible about his love — it’s the kind that will haunt your heart forever (in the best, friendliest way). About Caspar

What life with Caspar looks like

Caspar is a large young adult greyhound dog waiting at Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Caspar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Caspar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Caspar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Caspar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Caspar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Caspar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Caspar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
