Cesar

Galgo Español · Male · Adult · 4 years

César is a galgo who spent over a month surviving as best he could in a village near Toledo. Fortunately, volunteers were able to establish a routine to sedentarize him and set up a trap cage to capture him. Here is our magnificent brindled (tiger-striped) galgo, a young male born in August 2023, with a gentle and intelligent gaze. This beautiful Spanish greyhound is a sociable, balanced dog who is already very at ease with humans. He is not afraid, coming naturally into contact with people with that typical delicacy of galgos that melts you with a single glance. With other animals of the same species, he showed immediate sociability and respect. He currently shares his box with another galga, and everything is going wonderfully. The company of another dog is important to him: it reassures him, secures him, and allows him to fully flourish. A home with a canine companion would therefore be ideal for his equilibrium. He is a relatively calm galgo, but not dormant either! He is curious, observant, attentive to his surroundings… the kind of dog who looks at you as if analyzing the world (and perhaps also your reserve of treats). He is now searching for a loving, gentle, and patient family, ready to offer him the security, kindness, and love he deserves. Once he has chosen you, he will not look away from you and probably not from the couch either. Cesar sounds interesting? Fill out the adoption form (without obligation), and an association delegate will contact you soon: Photos and videos: coming soon Adoption fee: 315 euros Contact: - Cesar is under contract with the association GALGOS FRANCE. Vaccinated (including rabies) - Sterilized (or obligation if too young) - Tested for Mediterranean diseases - Identified and equipped with an EU passport He is currently at the shelter in Spain. Once adopted, Galgos France will take care of his transport to France. Adoptable throughout France (except Corsica) and in neighboring countries. Our other dogs for adoption right here:

About Cesar

What life with Cesar looks like

Cesar is a large adult galgo español dog waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cesar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cesar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cesar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cesar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cesar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cesar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cesar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
