DOG CEZAR OK. 7 YEARS 616093902907128 (75/25) SIZE: LARGE VACCINATIONS: YES CAGES: 16 Hello, I am Cezar. I've been at the animal shelter for a few months. At first, I was very wary of the new people around me, but over time, I realized they genuinely want what's best for me and I can trust them. Now, I even look forward to when they come to my cage because I know I'll go for a walk. I love walks, I walk nicely on a leash, I enjoy sniffing around, and I also tolerate grooming – although it's best when my attention is rewarded with a treat. I'm very greedy and still need to work on taking treats calmly. I like people, but I don't need to be hugged; I prefer when a person is nearby and can be my support. The volunteers taking care of me are constantly trying to discover my strengths and any small quirks. Now, at the animal shelter, I'm looked after by 4 volunteers, and since I've accepted them, there's definitely a chance I could develop a fondness for other people and find a new home.

About Cezar

What life with Cezar looks like

Cezar is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk in Gdansk.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cezar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cezar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cezar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cezar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cezar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cezar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cezar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
