Chance

Mastiff · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Meet Chance, our cuddly Bull Mastiff cross pup! Chance is a gentle girl who absolutely loves fuss and enjoys spending her free time snuggled up in the crook of your neck, fast asleep. Chance is looking for committed owners, with a good knowledge of guarding type dogs, that can offer her the time and patience to help her grow into a confident adult dog. Chance, is a Mastiff cross and will likely grow to be a large dog, meaning that training will need to be a priority from the get-go. With other dogs, Chance has shown to be playful and animated showing a keen interest in making friends. We believe she could live with a another dog who wouldn't mind taking a young pup under their wing. Chance is a very sweet girl, but due to her breed size, mouthy puppy behaviour and a bit of a worried side to her, she would be more suitable to live with sensible older children. As she is a young pup who will need toilet training from scratch, a private garden is essential. Like any young pup, Chance will need guidance, training and plenty of enrichment as she grows, but she is a clever little girl with lots of potential. With the right support and patience, she is sure to grow into a sweet companion. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Chance, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. ch for the dog in question.

About Chance

What life with Chance looks like

Chance is a large puppy/kitten mastiff dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chance, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chance?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chance on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chance if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chance already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chance isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chance and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
