Chanelle

Saluki Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

Chanelle is a loving Saluki cross who is looking for a home to call her own. She has been friendly with everyone she has met and enjoys spending time with her human companions. She is based at Battersea Old Windsor. While Chanelle is affectionate with people, she can feel worried around other dogs and would therefore like to be the only dog in her new home where she can relax and enjoy all the attention for herself. Due to her worry around dogs, Chanelle is looking to live in a quieter location with peaceful walking routes to help her feel comfortable and confident. She will also benefit from a private and secure garden where she can run off the lead and stretch her legs. Chanelle enjoys her walks in quiet areas and walks nicely on the lead. After a walk, one of her favourite things to do is curl up in a soft cosy bed and relax. Chanelle is looking for a calm, quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Chanelle, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Chanelle

What life with Chanelle looks like

Chanelle is a large young adult saluki dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chanelle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chanelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chanelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chanelle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Chanelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chanelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chanelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
