adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Since he was a little puppy, Charlie Brown has been waiting to finally arrive. While all his siblings have long found homes, he is the only one still hoping for a chance—hoping for people who can show him how beautiful life can be. Charlie Brown is approximately 2.5 years old and with his about 65 cm, a sturdy, beautiful male dog. He has lived with other dogs since his childhood, is well socialized, and knows the contact with cats. Even people are not strangers to him—he had always had encounters with them, but he hasn't known a real home yet. His nature is quiet, friendly, and initially a bit reserved. He prefers to observe first before he builds trust. But if given time and patience, he opens up and shows his gentle heart. We suspect that Charlie Brown has parts of a herding dog within him. Therefore, we are looking for people with experience or the willingness to get to know the typical characteristics of these fascinating dogs. A rural home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal. Herding dogs are loyal, faithful companions—but not city dogs and not office dogs. They need people who respect their independence and lead with loving consistency. Charlie Brown wishes for a home where no great expectations are initially placed on him. People who let him come in peace and show him with positive, patient training what trust means. Then he will be a faithful companion who enjoys nature walks, snuggling hours, and small everyday adventures. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, brings his EU pet passport with him, and can be fostered after a positive assessment. Charlie Brown would also be very happy about a foster home—a place where he can finally be part of a family. Two years is a long time—will Charlie Brown finally be seen now? Thank you, Oliver U.! With your namesake sponsorship, you have given all the siblings an identity. As of: 09.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Danke Oliver U.! Mit Deiner Namenspatenschaft hast allen Geschwistern eine Identität geschenkt. About Charlie Brown

What life with Charlie Brown looks like

Charlie Brown is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlie Brown, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlie Brown?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlie Brown on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlie Brown if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlie Brown already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlie Brown isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlie Brown and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
