adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Charlie has found his luck! His story: Charlie is a young, lively puppy who embodies what one might imagine a happy puppy to be: he plays with enthusiasm, dashes around with his siblings, and runs joyfully to greet a human the moment they appear. He was also abandoned with his four siblings (Mowgli, Rambo (already in a foster home), Nanouk (already rehomed), and Clare) at the animal shelter in Nasaud—far too young to make it on his own. But Charlie has retained his cheerfulness. He is open, curious, and shows no fear of people. He gladly and joyfully accepts cuddles, attention, and playtime. Charlie is puppy-like in his activity, needing clear structures and people who can lovingly explain dog life to him. With patience, consistency, and a lot of heart, he will develop into a loyal and reliable companion—whether for a family, couples, or individuals. Whoever gives Charlie a home will receive a cheerful roommate on four legs who is always up for fun. We are looking for a home, a foster home, or a foster home with an option for sterilization for him right away. After a positive Charlie also has his EU pet passport in his luggage. This dog will be rehomed together with the association Arme Hundeseelen Rumänien. The double posting on both association sides and possibly in advertising portals serves to increase his visibility and find the right home for him more quickly. With the association, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog is directly discussed and passed on. As of: 19.09. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 19.09.2025

About Charlie

What life with Charlie looks like

Charlie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
