Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

Size/Weight: likely medium-sized, around 20-25kg Endweight Living Place: Romania 🐾 Charlie – A little survivor on the lookout for love and security 🐾 approximately 7 months old | playful | gentle & cautious | people-oriented Imagine: A tiny, 2-month-old furball, abandoned in a cold trash can 😢. No safety, no love, only fear and uncertainty. That's how Charlie's little life began – with his siblings, who were just as helpless. But then came the luck: Our animal rescuer heard about the babies and took them in immediately 💖. With warmth, care, and patience, Charlie's path from darkness to light began 🌟. Step by step, he learned to trust, play, and discover the beautiful sides of life 🐶✨. Today, Charlie is a little sunbeam ☀️. He is playful, curious, and incredibly friendly 🐕🐾. Every cuddle session, every walk, and every new adventure makes his heart skip a beat ❤️. Charlie is ready for his own family 🏡💛 – but he needs people with patience who can teach him the basics of being a dog: house training, life in the home, and the small rules of everyday life 🥰. With love, understanding, and consistency, this brave little fighter will become a loyal, loving companion for life 🌈💖. Who will open their heart to Charlie and give him the home he so deserves? Who wants to be part of his wonderful story and witness how a neglected puppy becomes a happy family dog? 🌟🐾 Charlie is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, not yet neutered, and has been checked by a veterinarian and is in possession of an EU pet passport. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases via a rapid test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base our decision solely on their outward appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of intentions and knowledge of the club and the involved veterinarians. However, these descriptions do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as their reliable determination would only be possible through DNA analysis. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of the individual animal is based on careful observations by the animal welfare workers on site or by the respective foster homes. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions in the intake or foster homes.

About Charlie

What life with Charlie looks like

Charlie is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
