Charlot

Mixed Breed · Unknown

🐈‍⬛ FOR ADOPTION 🐈‍⬛ Today we are presenting Charlot! A nice old guy in his early teens. A buddy of Dorothée, he too has spent his life surviving on a farm. He is missing some teeth, has small injuries all over his body, and has a milia rash that is currently healing, in other words a wonderful and stylish young man as handsome as a truck! ❤️ Charlot has timidly discovered the life of a house cat and clearly likes it a lot! The cushions, the cuddles, and the always full bowl have won him over and there is nothing in the world that would make him go back to his farm. Charlot has always lived in a colony and the presence of another friendly, social cat is mandatory for him. It reassures him a lot and he loves giving cuddles to other animals of the same species. He knows dogs but they scare him if they are too rough. Babies also scare him when they cry. Charlot is looking for a rather calm home for his retirement and to enjoy the cuddles of his future humans. It may take him a little time to gain confidence. He is kind, calm, and clean. He doesn't cause any trouble. He drools when he is happy ... He can live in an apartment or a house. Charlot is identified, neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. Adoption fee 200€. Visible in Bolleville 76210.

About Charlot

What life with Charlot looks like

Charlot is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at La Patte Normande in Bolleville.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlot, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlot?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. La Patte Normande handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlot on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlot if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — La Patte Normande will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlot already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlot isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with La Patte Normande early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlot and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
