César is a very affectionate cat, very demanding of petting and very close to humans. He is also very playful. His mother has a calicivirus, César may potentially be a carrier of the virus (but may not show it). He is also positive for feline leukemia, but has not yet been declared. Feline leukemia is similar to AIDS but there is no panic, this virus does not transmit to humans or other animal species. A contaminated cat can remain a healthy carrier for several months or years before the disease develops. During this phase, the animal is said to be seropositive for FeLV, but shows no symptoms of the disease. However, being a carrier of the virus, it is contagious. When the disease develops, like when a person suffers from AIDS, an immunodeficiency is observed making the animal very susceptible to all infections, which limits its lifespan. Feline leukemia is transmitted from cat to cat through urine, feces, and saliva. The virus is not very resistant in the external environment, so the risk of contamination is almost nil for a healthy cat passing after a contaminated cat in a room. Disinfecting the equipment is sufficient. There is no treatment for feline leukemia, it is therefore important to protect the cat as much as possible from diseases, especially by keeping its vaccines for typhus / cat flu up to date. César is to be adopted as a single cat or with other vaccinated cats for feline leukemia. César is available for adoption throughout Normandy with a voluntary donation.

César est un chat très câlin, très en demande de caresses et très proche de l’homme. Il est aussi très joueur. Sa mère ayant un calicivirus, César peut être potentiellement porteur du virus (mais peut ne pas le déclarer). Il est également positif à leucose, mais encore non déclaré. La leucose féline est proche du SIDA mais pas de panique, ce virus ne se transmet pas à l’homme ni aux autres espèces animales. Un chat contaminé peut rester porteur sain pendant plusieurs mois ou années avant que la maladie ne se développe. Pendant cette phase, l’animal est dit séropositif pour le FeLV, mais ne présente aucun symptôme de la maladie. En revanche, étant porteur du virus, il est contagieux. Quand la maladie se développe, comme lorsqu’un homme souffre du SIDA, on observe une immunodéficience rendant l’animal très sensible à toutes les infections, ce qui limite sa durée de vie.
