Adopt Chase

Mixed Breed · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: The brave Chase and her sister Sky2 were dropped off at the animal shelter together. They have grown up together and look after each other. Chase and Sky have a very close bond and Chase gives her sister comfort. Together they lived a happy life with a family with several children and other dogs. Now unfortunately one of the daughters is sick and the family spends a lot of time in the hospital. She can no longer take care of Chase and her sister. Therefore, they have made the difficult decision to place them with other people where they will be better cared for. Chase is a friendly and eager young female dog and is very excited about shared, often also sporty activities. Sky2 follows her sister very gladly too. Mostly out of the cramped kennel. She likes people and misses her life in a family and a loving home very much. The two walk well on a leash and are very clingy and socially compatible. They show submissiveness towards other dogs and avoid any trouble. They travel comfortably by car and look forward to shared adventures with their people. We hope very much that people will find them, ideally a home where both will have a place, as it would break Chase and Sky2’s hearts to be separated. Perhaps someone will fall in love with Chase and also give her sister a chance. We wish both all the best! As with most animals from abroad, Chase will also need to get used to life in the new home, as she knows neither large crowds of people nor the noisy traffic of a city from Spain. But we are optimistic that she will settle in well. We wish a home in a rural area for Chase where she can enjoy nature with her people. We are looking for people who are willing to take this wonderful dog with patience, time, and in an affectionate way to life and the new home. Please note:. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Chase

What life with Chase looks like

Chase is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chase, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chase?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chase on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chase if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chase already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chase isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chase and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
