Cher

Female · Senior · 10 years

Cher is an adult female dog who has calmed down with age and has definitely become more gentle. She was once very territorial and could show defensive behaviors, but there is no longer any mention of aggression. She gladly accepts a collar and goes on walks, where she does well on a leash. Sometimes she tries to pull forward, but she quickly slows down when she feels the leash tighten. Cher is very gentle and eager to interact, gives kisses and enjoys every moment spent with a person. She is a wonderful guard dog who needs a home with a garden, where she will feel safe and relaxed in her environment. Due to her size and strength, we do not recommend her for a home with small children, but in a calm, balanced environment where she can still guard and enjoy the company of her people, she will certainly find her place. Cher deserves a home full of love and warmth, where she can experience some more happiness and affection.

PL·Show original

About Cher

What life with Cher looks like

Cher is a large senior dog waiting at Funny Pets Czartki in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cher, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cher?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Funny Pets Czartki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cher on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cher if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Funny Pets Czartki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cher already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cher isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Funny Pets Czartki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cher and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
