Zorka

Female · Senior · 10 years

Zorka is a female dog of beautiful appearance, who has been in the animal shelter for a while. This is a very sensitive and delicate dog, who needed time to start trusting people. Behind her caution lies great potential and a small heart that is slowly beginning to open up. Zorka was a very withdrawn dog. Most often she chose to hide in the kennel run and avoided contact with people. When she felt unsafe, there were episodes of aggression resulting from fear and the need to defend her own space. Currently, a huge change is visible in her. Zorka allowed herself to be put on a collar, went out for a walk on her own, also went out to the yard on her own paws and came back by herself. It's a big step forward for this female dog, who not long ago was locked in her fear.

PL·Show original

About Zorka

What life with Zorka looks like

Zorka is a small senior dog waiting at Funny Pets Czartki in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zorka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zorka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Funny Pets Czartki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zorka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zorka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Funny Pets Czartki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zorka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zorka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Funny Pets Czartki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zorka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
