Adopt Cheyenne

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 10 years

This pretty tortoise scale, about 10 years old, was found wandering. Unfortunately, we know nothing about her past. Despite the searches conducted and the announcements made, no owner has come forward as of today. 💔 According to the current legislation, a lost animal can be claimed by its owner within two months. Without any new information by then, Cheyenne will be available for permanent adoption starting June 27, 2026. 🏡 Cheyenne is a calm, gentle, and affectionate cat who really enjoys seeking affection. However, she doesn't particularly like being brushed, especially when there are tangles… her patience has its limits. Upon her arrival, she had significant tangles stuck to her skin, which forced us to shave her in some areas. Currently in cattery, she tolerates other cats as long as they don't come to her. We do not yet know how she would react to dogs; therefore, a period of adaptation will be necessary. We are looking for a loving home where she can continue to enjoy outings at her own discretion. 🌿 📞 For any additional information or if you are interested, please contact us only by phone at 02. ❗ Please do not contact us via message, email, or social media.

About Cheyenne

What life with Cheyenne looks like

Cheyenne is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at SPA Valais in Uvrier.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cheyenne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cheyenne?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Valais handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cheyenne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cheyenne if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Valais will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cheyenne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cheyenne isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Valais early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cheyenne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
