adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Cheyenne has found her home! Her story: Cheyenne desperately needs her own soft dog bed or a lap to be stroked and kissed. She is, in fact, very cuddly. Cheyenne, Paul Kohlhase, Schnute, and Minza are four wonderful siblings found in the vicinity of our private animal shelter in Fantanele. They were all in a very bad condition and had to be rehabilitated first. But we have four fighters here! All are now well, very pretty, and healthy. They are ready to travel to their own families. Cheyenne is the smallest from the litter, but she definitely has the longest ears 🙂. She is a about 4-month-old Welpin, who loves to play with her siblings, typical for a puppy, and is now more open to people. Cheyenne is just realizing how wonderful the cuddles of two-leggeds are. The delicate girl is a mixed-breed female dog, and we cannot predict what traits she will develop as she grows up. Cheyenne is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Cheyenne should always be guided with a positive training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent but loving in training. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Cheyenne travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her home. You fell in love with the longest ears in Romania? Many thanks to the anonymous donor who made the name sponsorship for Cheyenne possible! As of: 11.06.

Stand: 11.06.2024

About Cheyenne

What life with Cheyenne looks like

Cheyenne is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cheyenne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cheyenne?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cheyenne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cheyenne if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cheyenne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cheyenne isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cheyenne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
