Chicca

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Chicca has found her luck! Her story: The two sisters Chicca and Trixie were abandoned together in the middle of the forest to freezing temperatures. Our helper Tina found them and took them in, otherwise they would have likely perished there. The two are about 1 year old, around 40 cm tall and weigh about 15 kg. So they are small, manageable Beagle-female dogs. The Beagle is an intelligent companion dog that belongs to the hound group. It also counts as a family dog because Beagles maintain a harmonious and gentle manner. They are attentive, vigilant, and can act independently and cleverly. Small animals should therefore not live in the family and there should be the willingness to properly address their hunting instincts in an appropriate manner. In a positively working dog training class, one can surely find a great hobby, such as tracking, dummy training, or obedience. So the Beagle is not only physically but also mentally wonderfully stimulated. In what way the typical Beagle needs apply to the two will have to be found out in their new home, so it could also be good that they need much less action. With their fellow animals, they get along well. Chicca and Trixie travel neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated with their own EU-pet passport in the luggage and against an adoption fee of 500 Euro to their new home. Of course, a positive is a prerequisite here. Thank you, Monika V.! You gave Chicca her perfect name. As of: 01.03.

Vielen Dank Monika V.! Du hast Chicca ihren passenden Namen geschenkt. Stand: 01.03.2025

About Chicca

What life with Chicca looks like

Chicca is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chicca, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chicca?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chicca on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chicca if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chicca already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chicca isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chicca and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
