Adopt Zora

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Information about Zora: Breed: mixed breed Gender: female Born: 2014 (estimated) Color: reddish-brown Vaccinated: yes Spayed: yes Chipped: yes Kennel dog: no shoulder height: ca. 65 cm Current location: Mayor's Office Kórós, Hungary Information about the dog's stay Zora lived with an older couple since she was a puppy in a 10-story building, on the top floor, for 4 years. The owners had a serious accident and multiple operations, so they could no longer take care of Zora. They tried to find a new owner for her but couldn't find anyone for Zora. So they decided to put Zora to sleep. A woman from Pécs, who works for an animal protection organization, found out about this. She was looking for a place for the beautiful female dog and asked the Mayor's Office in Kórós. Here, Zora was taken in. Due to some construction sites, she also received medical care. She is currently waiting for an operation because she has a kidney stone, but she is currently getting kidney-friendly food. Zora doesn't mind other dogs, but she has formed a friendship with the small Maci and lives with him in a run. Zora still has a big fear of the harness, so she is now walked on a collar. She is a very quiet and friendly dog, sometimes as timid as a puppy. We are looking for people who can make a few more beautiful years as a beloved family dog for Zora. Cats should not be in her home, as she doesn't like them. If you like Zora, please contact us. Zora could already be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to travel with a blue EU passport. About Zora

What life with Zora looks like

Zora is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. in Mildstedt.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
