Chico Prez

Mixed Breed · Male · 3 years

We know that more than one will fall in love with this adorable little face, with those big eyes and that charming smile, who wouldn't? We present to you Chico Pérez; complete with his last name, we know very little about his past, but we suppose he had a family before coming to us, as he knows quite a few tricks. Chico, as we've mentioned, is a super smart little pup and knows several tricks; we have no doubt he could learn many more, including sitting, shaking paws, lying down, and dropping a ball… Additionally, he's a real sweetheart, wanting lots of cuddles while sitting on top of us, though he's not much of a fan of kisses, adoring any type of petting. He's friendly with both people and dogs. If he's to have a brother or sister, they'll need to go through an adaptation period. He'll do anything, as long as his space and time are respected, as he can get overwhelmed, but a few sausages can help make everything more positive. We know that many people will be interested in Chico, as he's a very handsome and charming dog, but it's important to remember that he's a very active dog, which requires a lot of energy to be burned both physically and mentally.

About Chico Prez

What life with Chico Prez looks like

Chico Prez is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs respect for personal space and time, can get overwhelmed

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chico Prez, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chico Prez?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chico Prez on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chico Prez if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chico Prez already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chico Prez isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chico Prez and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
