Chicorée

Male

Chicorée was found and now I want to fly into my happiness too - maybe with you? This is me: I am a rather insecure little guy and unfortunately very stress-prone. Probably I haven't had much to experience in my previous life - everything still scares me somehow. Especially in new situations I tend to act out (also with biting). But I can still learn a lot, build trust and find my way in life better if you help me. I wish for a understanding, spacious home (outdoor aviary with heated shelter) and suitable company of a well-socialized hen of similar age. Experienced people who teach me that I can trust would be ideal. Do you want to get to know me? Then please contact my caregivers directly at or fill out the application form below.

About Chicorée

What life with Chicorée looks like

Chicorée is an adult bird waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chicorée, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chicorée?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chicorée on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chicorée if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Chicorée already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg directly what is included and what Chicorée still needs.
What happens if Chicorée isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chicorée and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
