Adopt Chili

Female · Young · 1 year

Chili is a funny, happy and social buddy who loves to be in the center of events and wants to be near you all the time! He is communicative and "talks" in his own charming way. He can get a bit easily stressed when there's a lot happening, but quickly returns to his favorite role as a couch potato, preferably right next to or even better in bed where he feels he has a clear VIP spot. Candy is his biggest motivation in life and he will do almost anything for a small reward. Despite his small size, he is tough and stubborn, especially when it comes to playing "soccer," which he does with great involvement and pride! Chili is simply a nice, cozy and entertaining little guy who will fill your home with laughter and love. He is a real little life lover who loves company and really wants to be where the action is; loneliness is not really his thing. This charming gentleman thrives best when he can be close to his human and be a natural part of daily life. Chili dreams of a calm and harmonious home where he can be in the middle of the community, preferably as your little sidekick in daily life! He wishes for as little loneliness as possible, so this suits someone who wants a loyal companion close almost all the time. He could definitely imagine sharing the home with a kind and safe dog of similar size (bonus friend!), but politely declines other animals. Children of school age who are dog-friendly can work well, as long as there is understanding that Chili can sometimes get a bit easily stressed and needs calm around him. Dream home? Preferably more towards the rural side where the pace is nicer and life can go at his cozy pace! Answer the questions below to get an indication of how your daily life and plans match a dog's needs. It helps both you and us to find the right match and give the dog a safe home. You need to take the test before you can submit your interest application. The price is between 2,500-10,000 SEK, depending mainly on the dog's age. A deposit of 2,000 SEK is taken for a "booked" dog. Guidelines regarding price:

About Chili

What life with Chili looks like

Chili is a large young adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
